1. Should I Visit North Cyprus?
If you’re more interested in peaceful holidays in Cyprus, with intimate dinners for two and romantic strolls on the beach then head to the northern Turkish side of the island. It’s less developed than the south so it has a much more tranquil atmosphere and an authentic Cypriot charm
Kyrenia is a popular destination for holidaymakers seeking sun and luxury in the north of Cyprus. It’s a picturesque fishing village situated near many of the scenic attractions northern Cyprus has to offer.
If history is your thing then visiting Bellapais Abbey is a must. You can trek through the spectacular countryside searching for the medieval ruins. Once you reach the ruins you will experience breathtaking views over Kyrenia and the Mediterranean Sea.

Boat Tours In Northern Cyprus
There are a variety of exciting boat tours for couples in Cyprus for you to choose from: Day and Night trips are available so there is something for everyone.
You could try scuba diving and searching for ship wrecks, all finished off with a sizzling barbecue and beers during the day.
Or maybe fishing is more your style. Most fishing trips have a cook out to round off, you can cook what you catch then drink and feast with the locals till late on.
For the night owls how about a romantic sunset dinner cruise with champagne and an evening swim under the stars and moonlight.

Visit The Old Ghost Town Famagusta – Varosha
Varosha is an intriguing abandoned town of the beautiful city of Famagusta. Once a popular tourist destination prior to the Turkish invasion of Cyprus in 1974. The locals fled never to return and since then entry is forbidden to the public. It is described as a ghost town with empty buildings and an eerie ghostly atmosphere..
There is lots of interesting history and facts to learn here, with some tours even being held by the very people who left as children back in 1974.
You can walk on the beach front to observe the forgotten town, it’s a sad story but an interesting one. It’s strange as there is no reason why It remains closed to this day, left to turn into ruins. On average the tours last between 45 minutes – 2 hours.
2. Should I Visit South Cyprus?
If you’re looking for livelier holidays in Cyprus, with a wide selection of bars and boat trips, then head to the southern Greek side of the island. It is where the main tourism sits on the island so expect a vibrant feel.
Limmasol is a popular choice for travellers looking for both nightlife and luxury in the south of cyprus. Near to Larnaca airport, It’s a bustling town full of seafront restaurants and beautiful sandy beaches.
Ayia Napa is approximately an hour away from Limmasol, you could spend a day at the famous nissi beach. It has white sands and boasts a wide selection of tasty restaurants serving freshly sourced food. Or why not have a 1 nights stay in Ayia Napa for a fun filled all night party in the thriving club district. with drinks flowing from dusk till dawn you’re sure to have a great night out.
Things To Do In The South Of Cyprus:
Aphrodite’s Rock
Aphrodite’s birthplace or Petra tou Romiou (Rock of the Greek) Legend has it that Aphrodite – the Greek goddess of beauty and love rose here from this very rock. It can be found along the main road from Paphos to Limassol and is an extremely popular tourist location: it’s easy to get to, no entry fee and there is plenty to do in the area:
Rock climbing
For the more adventurous types, you can carefully climb to the top of the different surrounding rocks to enjoy a spectacular special view point. There is an abundance of creatures and pretty flowers which cover parts of the rocks. You could take a small bottle of wine to share at the top whilst gazing over the sunset highlighting the magnificent area. Trainers or sturdy shoes are highly recommended as it’s quite slippery and harder than it looks to get back down!
Swimming
The crystal clear, surrounding warm blue waters are perfect for a lazy swim. For the more daring why not swim to the foot of the rock and feel the history. With the high foaming waves bashing at the feet of the rock, it really is one of the most stunning settings you can go swimming in Cyprus. An ancient myth among the locals is that ‘anybody who swims around the Aphrodite Rock 3 times a shall be blessed with eternal beauty’.
Food and drink
Beer and pizza anyone? After an interesting day of exploring why not finish it off with visit to Aprodites rock brewing company. Located in Paphos it’s a must see in Cyprus. The friendly owners will take you through a 20 minute tour, explaining how they brew their delicious beers, ciders and wines. You can sample a mixture, with an option to purchase favourites to take away for gifts. Waterfalls in the Troodos mountains
There are a few main waterfalls located around the entire island. The Troodos mountains are known for their beautiful waterfalls and idyllic settings. They are sign posted well and all are accessible by foot and the majority by car. However if you choose to take a more ‘off the beaten track’ route, you will discover hidden waterfalls, lakes to have a dip and secret blue lagoons, all nestled within the forest.
